Exchange Comes Together as One Team During Critical Selling Season

This past weekend, the Exchange team came together to exceed customer expectations and set a new online sales record. Sales at ShopMyExchange.com were $17 million on Nov. 24, beating the previous online single day sales record of $8.5 million set on Black Friday 2016! Every associate, including warehouse workers, drivers, food service workers, services team members, sales associates, cashiers and customer contact center associates, did their part to make it a weekend to remember.

The Exchange came together as one team months in advance of the critical selling season. The efforts of directorates such as IT, LG, MD and FA paid off significantly as thousands of Veterans logged on to our website, some for the first time in decades, and drove sales to heights not seen by any other retailer. What our Veterans as well as active duty and retired customers found at ShopMyExchange.com were amazing deals and a superior e-commerce experience thanks to improved site stability, industry leading customer service, fast shipping and, of course, a fantastic variety of tax-free door busters.

Not to be outdone by the incredible improvements made online, brick and mortar Exchanges worldwide created excitement in-store to drive traffic and bring military members and their families a taste of holiday cheer, no matter where they serve. The Exchange distributions centers were prepared for this historic increase in online orders by adding eCommerce fulfillment centers and other enhancements that paid off with the increase of 132 percent more orders fulfilled over last year. Ship-from-Store added to the delivery success story, shipping 21,711 orders from Exchange facilities to online customers.
