The largest gathering of children and families of America’s fallen military heroes came to Dallas for the annual Snowball Express Dec. 9 – 13. Snowball Express provides hope and new happy memories to the children of military heroes who have died while on active duty since 9/11. Each year, the organization brings children together from all over the world for a four days filled with fun activities, like sporting events, dances, amusement parks and more. Since 2011, the Exchange has served as a resource to military families attending Snowball Express.

The Exchange outreach team sets up a booth with other military resources including: grief counseling, scholarship foundations, military ID cards and insurance companies. The outreach team explains the Exchange benefit to widows/widowers, helps them establish ShopMyExchange.com accounts and answers questions regarding their benefit or MILITARY STAR card account.

Many military spouses of fallen troops are unaware of their continued Exchange benefit. Being able to shop at the Exchange helps them feel like they are still a part of the military community.
