September’s Customer Shoutouts: These Associates Rock!

Jamie Lujan
Pacific Region/Andersen AFB, Guam

I want to report the over-and-above call-of-duty service from your gas station attendant and cashier, Jamie Lujan. I am a regular customer who generally goes to the Express. On this particular night, I went for snacks and refreshments after a hard workout in the gym. After paying, I sat relaxed in my car in the handicapped parking space while re-hydrating, enjoying my snacks and listening to music.

I was unaware that my battery had problems and when I got ready to leave, my car wouldn’t start. It was nearly 12:30  1230 in the morning. Noticing that I had been there an exceptional amount of time, Mrs. Lujan came out of the store to check if I was okay. I told her that my car battery had died and I was hoping it would recharge enough to get me started. She returned to her post until near closing then, to my surprise and without hesitation, she took her own vehicle and came to my rescue.

She had no obligation to come my assistance near the end of a long, hard shift spent mostly on her feet and could have easily ignored my plight or simply been indifferent. Yet, with the attitude of compassion, as biblically stated in Luke 6:31, “And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise,” she rescued me from my plight.

Mrs. Lujan is a warm and compassionate employee who definitely takes her duties above and beyond the call of duty. The Exchange and Andersen AFB should be proud to have such a competent and selfless servant in their employment. Our military service members and accompanying civilian service members are the reason Americans can sleep securely at night and part of what makes America great. You are an Andersen AFB unspoken hero.

I want to thank Michelle for the super helper she was. I drove in from Fort Belvoir to to Augusta, Ga., to attend my wedding. When I realized I left the rings in Myrtle Beach, S.C., I went to two different pawn shops looking for something just for the ceremony. Then out of nowhere, something said “PX.” I went to the PX and explained my story to Michelle. She said I got what you need! She came back with his-and-her wedding bands to use in the ceremony. By doing this, she saved my wedding and not having the wife -issed off at me. Thank you so much, Michelle.

Celia, who works at the Express, should recognized and acclaimed for her kind, courteous and helpful demeanor, which is nothing short of exceptional. I am  TDY on this installation and have encountered this wonderful lady two times as a customer. Both times, I left the store utterly impressed by her ability to perform her job quickly and efficiently while maintaining a positive, cheerful and kind demeanor. I wish everyone in occupations requiring direct, frequent customer interactions could conduct themselves like she does. She truly sets the standard for the very definition of “customer service” and creates a customer experience that would certainly result in the highest degrees of satisfaction and retention in any competitive enterprise.

Alyshia Bagley

On June 29, I went into the Exchange’s sporting goods section. Alyshia asked me if I needed help and showed me the way to where I needed to get my items. Not only that, but she saw that the boxes wouldn’t fit in the cart and kindly helped me to the front of the store. It was a busy day in the Exchange, but her professional, warm demeanor and kindness made the entire ordeal so much easier, especially given the fact that I had my little child with me. She’s an asset to the main store!

A caller said that she was helping her parents today with their MILITARY STAR account. She wanted to give kudos to the people at the Exchange who helped them. They noted that Dorothy Sanders listened and helped them figure out what needed to be done to solve their problems.

RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom

I would like to recognize the incredible customer service provided by Arif! This evening, my family and I went to the RAF Mildenhall Four Seasons to look at women’s bicycles. Arif quickly greeted us and asked us how he could assist. Not only did Arif identity the bikes that would meet our needs, but he also let me test the bikes! Most importantly, he did it all with a smile! Thank you, Arif!
