Exchange Makes Sports Nutrition a Focus with In-Store Concept Shops
To keep Warfighters ready and resilient, the Exchange is rolling out sports nutrition concept shops within Exchange stores that feature everything service members need to maintain an active lifestyle. The shops feature pre- and post-workout supplements, sports drinks, vitamins and high-protein snacks all in one place.
Ten sports nutrition shops have already opened, with more than 20 more scheduled to open by the end of October, to provide shoppers with all they need to fuel an active lifestyle.
“We’re trying to make it easier for shoppers of all fitness levels to get what they need,” said sports nutrition buyer Amber Seibert. “As the Exchange is focusing on holistic health and well-being, the sports nutrition shops help make maintaining an active lifestyle more convenient.”
Holistic wellness management
Sports nutrition, as a part of holistic wellness management, is one of the product categories the Exchange is looking to grow this year. The sleek new concept shops are designed to boost sales and awareness of the Exchange’s sports nutrition offerings.
The shops feature pre- and post-workout supplements, sports drinks, vitamins and high-protein snacks all in one place, and are located near the BE FIT section in most stores.
The all-in-one shops offer industry-leading brands such as Optimum Nutrition, BSN and MuscleTech, as well as emerging brands like Ghost, Sparta, Merica’s Labz, Performance Inspired and more.

The selection of natural supplements has also been vastly increased to keep up with shopper preferences and industry trends.
The one-stop shops are already resonating with service members.
Sgt. 1st Class Gene Carbough, who serves in the Louisiana National Guard with Joint Force Headquarters Louisiana, browsed the selection at the Fort Hood Exchange’s sports nutrition shop shortly after it opened.
The shops “make a lot of sense,” Carbough said. “You used to have to go one place for one thing, another place for something else. Now it’s all consolidated.”
