Camp Mujuk Express in South Korea Moves to Permanent Facility

Prior to the opening of the new Express, troops were shopping in a shipping container.

Exchange managers and installation commanders cut the ribbon on the new Express.

Service members at Camp Mujuk in South Korea can now enjoy an upgraded Express convenience store. The Marine installation’s Express, previously operating out of a 600-square-foot shipping container, celebrated its relocation to a permanent facility Nov. 20.

The Camp Mujuk Command team joined Exchange leaders in cutting the ribbon on the new Express, which is nearly three times larger than its previous space and features an expanded product selection, including BE FIT healthy snacks, grab-and-go hot food, coffee and more.

Prior to the opening of the new Express, troops were shopping in a shipping container.

“The new Express gives Warfighters more options,” said Exchange General Manger Brian Sonntag. “They’re far from home and being able to grab their favorite snack or a hot meal at the Express can go a long way in bringing a bit of home to them.”

The Express had been operating out of the shipping container for more than 15 years. The new building also houses the Exchange’s concessions, which include a barber shop, a mobile communications store, tailoring and alterations services and more.
