Exchange Doughnut Maker Receives International Honor from Krispy Kreme
Ben Emmerich, a master doughnut maker, according to Krispy Kreme
To the people at Krispy Kreme, the Exchange’s Ben Emmerich is one of the greatest things to come along since the glazed doughnut.
Emmerich, a production specialist with the Exchange bakery in Gruenstadt, Germany, was one of only two people worldwide recently to receive pins and certificates from Krispy Kreme in the company’s first Global Recognition contest.
Emmerich supervises the Krispy Kreme line—he is responsible for producing the iconic brand that delights Exchange customers throughout Europe and contingency locations.
He was recognized for reducing waste, increasing yield efficiency, committing to product quality and continuing preventive maintenance.
“I am quite pleased and, to tell you the truth, surprised,” said Emmerich, who’s worked at the bakery since 2002. “But when you have a great team around you and all of them are dedicated to putting out the best products, getting recognition like this is easy.”
In a special ceremony recently, bakery managers and associates recognized Emmerich for his accomplishments.
“We truly honor his achievement and continued commitment to providing the best products to the best customers throughout Europe and the contingency locations,” said Don Henson, food plant operations manager.
