Exchange Contributes Support to Soldiers at BOSS Symposium
Part of the Exchange mission is supporting Quality-of-Life programs for Warfighters. One such program is Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS).
On the 30th anniversary of the BOSS program, the Exchange attended the 2019 BOSS Training Symposium in Indianapolis from July 22 through July 26. About 250 Soldiers from 64 Army garrisons worldwide gathered for leadership and management training that included topics ranging from roles and responsibilities of BOSS members to ways to boost their membership and events.
“Not only does the Exchange support programs such as BOSS with the dividend, but they are also a part of the Healthy Army initiative,” said Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Command Sgt. Maj. Melissa Judkins. “With their BE FIT products and healthy eating options, the Exchange is helping our Soldiers be healthy and fit and ready to fight.”
Roughly 60 percent of Exchange earnings support Quality-of-Life programs such as BOSS — activities that are critical to maintaining force readiness and resiliency. The symposium was an opportunity for the Exchange to hear first-hand concerns of the single Soldier and understand ways in which it could help improve their quality of life.
“The Exchange has been, and always will be, all in for taking care of Warfighters,” said Col. Collin Fortier, the Exchange’s military community liaison. “We are proud to support the BOSS program and do our part to boost the morale and welfare of single Soldiers.”
