Rose Lawler, manager at Maine’s Air National Guard Troop Store, told the world recently on social media why she loves serving America’s Warfighters.

On Facebook, the 101st Air Refueling Wing profiled Lawler this summer  during its weekly “Why I Serve” video.

“I love working with the military and believe in its mission,” Lawler, who’s worked with the Exchange since 2007, said in the video. “We go where you go, and we serve the military.”

Throughout her Exchange career, Lawler has served customers at Fort Drum, Fort Benning, Hickam AFB, Schofield Barracks, Fort Bragg and Camp Keyes. Her family is all military: her husband served more than 20 years in the Army; her brother is a Sailor; her father was a Sailor; a son is an Airman.

“I have other family members who have every military branch covered, so I can’t show any favoritism to any branch,” Lawler said. “I really support them all and working with members of the military every day at the Exchange.”

Bet You Didn’t Know . . .

The Exchange operates a store at only one location in Maine: the Bangor Air National Guard Base. However, a post exchange operated at Maine’s Fort McKinley from the late 1800s to when the Army coastal defense fort closed in 1947.
