Also attending were Janet Grammer, the network’s assistant program manager; Nida Mott of SD Help Desk Support; and Bee Persaud, EEODI specialist.

The Exchange’s diversity and inclusion leaders supported and attended the annual Native American Pow Wow in Dallas/Fort Worth on Sept. 21 to absorb the colorful heritage of tribal dances, arts and crafts, tipis, honoring ceremonies and singing.

“Exchange associates attended the Pow Wow to promote team spirit within the Nation’s Network Special Emphasis Program (American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage), and to bring awareness to their resplendent history and culture,” said Alan French, vice president of Logistics and the network’s executive champion. “It was a wonderful event, and we were glad for the opportunity to be part of it.”

The DFW Inter-Tribal Association sponsored the event Sept. 20-22 at Traders Village, a popular open-air marketplace outside Dallas. Native Americans attending the event represented dozens of tribes from across the United States.

The drums beat for the dancers from toddlers to grandmothers in full regalia of feathers, buckskin, bells and beadwork competing for prize money and awards.
