At Armed Forces Bowl, Exchange to Welcome Home Newly Eligible Shoppers, Showcase Americana Truck Wrap
The Exchange’s newest truck wrap, featuring a stunning Americana design created by Veterans, will debut this weekend at the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl to welcome home disabled Veterans to their new in-store shopping benefit.
The design, a collaboration between print art director and Air Force Veteran Chuck Hatton and Creative Director and Marine Corps Veteran Johnny Olson features a bald eagle, Purple Heart symbol and other meaningful images in a tattoo-styled design.
“Americana style holds a significant place in history especially within the military community.” Hatton said. “Tattoos of this style were often sported by military personnel showcasing the branch they belonged to. Many Veterans feel a connection to the style of art and symbols in the design.”
The truck is the showpiece of the Exchange’s outreach efforts at the bowl game, marking the organization’s third straight year as a participating partner. This year’s matchup features the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles and the Tulane Green Wave.
Exchange outreach will focus on welcoming Veterans with service-connected disabilities, Veterans who are Purple Heart recipients, Veterans who are former prisoners of war and primary family caregivers for Veterans who are enrolled in the Department of Veterans Affairs Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers back to Exchange stores. Veterans will also be reminded of their benefit at ShopMyExchange.com.
The game will be played Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth.
