A Taste of Home Far From Home: Popeyes Opens at Camp Arifjan

Camp Arifjan Popeyes

The Exchange opened a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait.

More than 550 service members at Camp Arifjan lined up to get a taste of home Feb. 9, when the Exchange opened a Popeyes restaurant at the Kuwait installation.

The restaurant is the fifth Exchange Popeyes at a contingency location, and the 87th Exchange Popeyes worldwide.

“Eating at a familiar favorite may seem like a small thing, but it’s a huge morale boost for service members serving overseas,” said Jason Rosenberg, Exchange senior vice president of the Europe/Southwest Asia Region. “The Exchange is dedicated to making life better for our heroes, and bringing name-brand restaurants to them, wherever they are, is one small way we do that.”

Popeyes is already a big hit at Camp Arifjan—the restaurant did more than $7,000 in sales its first day.
