COVID-19 Heroes: Europe Drivers Receive Sweet Thanks

Europe drivers got sweet thanks for their hard work.

Exchange truckers in Europe got a sweet thanks for their hard work.

While Exchange Europe fleet drivers were en route to making their deliveries to Poland, they found a sweet treat from their management team: “emergency rations” in the form of candy.

“It’s a very small token of our thanks,” said Exchange Europe Regional Fleet Manager Ronald Willis. “But we wanted to let our drivers know how much we appreciate them and all the mission-essential work they do, especially during these difficult circumstances.”

The drivers were delivering to Poland to support the Defender Europe 20 exercises, but are also facing additional challenges as the COVID-19 pandemic strains supply chains around the world.

Increased border protections in many countries also add challenges to their work that takes them between nations. Even in normal circumstances, Poland is the farthest destination that Exchange drivers regularly travel to.

“With all that’s happening during the pandemic, everyone in the supply chain is being asked to do a little more while also dealing with personal stresses and anxiety,” Willis said. “Our drivers are exceptional, and we just wanted to let them know how grateful we are for their hard work and dedication.”

The drivers were appreciative of the gesture of thanks, which also came with a thank-you note that read: “Be safe. Be patient. Be healthy. Thank you for what you do!”
