“These drivers have been unwavering through difficult times,” said Exchange Pacific Region Fleet Manager Jonah Thomas. “They continued to deliver products to Exchanges through a lot of challenges and changes that have been happening. We’re extremely proud of the work our entire team has been doing.”
The Exchange is also making sure associates stay safe with extra precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The office staffs at the Korea Distribution Center, Japan DC and Okinawa DC are practicing physical distancing and replacing in-person staff meetings with digital communications; wiping down office equipment, door knobs and tables daily; making hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes available in high-traffic areas; and increasing the frequency of cleanings for restrooms. Anyone feeling sick is asked to stay home.
Exchange Pacific drivers have been issued N95 masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes and have received training on the proper way to wear the masks. Drivers are also cleaning their trucks—steering wheels, door handles, gear shift, dashboard—before and after each shift.
“We’re leaning forward take care of our associates and our military communities during these tough times,” Thomas said. “We have the best customers in the world—and the best associates, too.”
