“The Exchange has done an exceptional job supporting JBSA Airmen and families during the pandemic,” Lenderman said. “Our community knows it can count on its Exchange to maintain mission-essential support, even in times of widespread disruption and uncertainty.”
The JBSA-Lackland Exchange received its own command kudos a day earlier, when 502nd Installation Support Group Commander Col. Edward Edgar offered certificates and thanks to Main Store Manager Rick Evans, Food Court Manager John Oliviero, Services Business Manager Ivy Garcia-Romero, South Mini Mall and Troop Store Manager Cynthia Gregg, Sales and Merchandising Manager Roland Guerra, Operations Manager Leah Johnson and Stockroom Manager Michael Lippi.
“The teams at Lackland and Randolph have done a wonderful job remaining strong during these stressful times,” said Carrie Cammel, general manager of the JBSA-Lackland and JBSA-Randolph Exchanges. “They’ve adapted to the additional pressures and stressors of the pandemic while implementing and even initiating programs that provide mission-essential support to the JBSA community.”
In addition to operational skills, Cammel said the managers have demonstrated a high level of compassion during the pandemic, providing support to Exchange associates amid the uncertainty brought on by COVID-19.
“Their dedication and compassion makes me proud to be part of this extraordinary team,” she said.
