125 Years of Family Serving Family – Penny Shadick, Customer Experience Associate, Fort Lee
One in a series honoring the Exchange’s 125 years of family serving family
Penny Shadick first heard about a job opening at the Exchange from a fellow military spouse. When her Marine husband Ron was assigned to Fort Lee, she started working at the Exchange Burger King. Twenty-five years later, Shadick is still serving the Fort Lee community as a customer experience associate at the Fort Lee Ordnance Troop Store.
“What I like best about working for the Exchange is that it keeps me connected to other military spouses in my customers and co-workers, even though my husband’s now retired,” Shadick said. “It’s a way to give back and serve military families.”
Thanks to Shadick, who oversees Snack Avenue, the troop store consistently passes all food inspections with flying colors and new associates continue to benefit from her knowledge and dedication.
