125 Years of Family Serving Family – Ms. Ho, Yu-chong, Humphreys Stockroom Manager
As a young girl, Ms. Ho, Yu-chong grew up watching her father, Mr. Ho, Un provide for his family with a financial security because of his dedication while working for the Exchange during a time when Korean economics was much poorer than what it is today. Mr. Ho, Un started his 22-year Exchange career in 1974 at Yongsan’s Military Clothing Sale as the store manager and retired in 1996 as the MCS Area Management specialist.
Ms. Ho later watched her brother, Mr. Ho, Song-uk start a job on post working for Burger King. In 1991, she would follow in his footsteps with her own food service job with the Exchange at Anthony’s Pizza.
During the next few years, she fell in love to another Exchange associate who worked as a cashier in the main store.
In 1996, Ms. Ho, Yu-chong married Mr. Kim, Ki-yong. They became a family of three with the birth of their daughter.
“The Exchange has helped my father provide for me and my family when I was young,” said Ms. Ho. “The Exchange continues to take care of me and my family as well as my brother who has also worked for the Exchange for over 30 years.”
The four members of Ms. Ho’s family who worked or are currently working at the Exchange have 106 years of service collectively. The Exchange continues to provide them with not only a job but opportunities for advancement. And for Ho, Yu-chong, she not only found a secure career but also found love.
