Associates Worldwide Can Contribute to Combined Federal Campaign
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed lives all over the world—not only because of the devastating effects of the virus, but also the associated economic fallout that has impacted millions worldwide.
That’s why the Exchange is calling on associates worldwide to contribute to the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, through Jan. 15 at https://cfcgiving.opm.gov/welcome.
By contributing, associates will join federal civilian and military donors all over the world in supporting eligible nonprofit organizations that provide health and human service benefits. In 2019, CFC donors contributed $86.4 million to thousands of local, national and international causes.
“We set goals for each campaign in the past, but now that we’re doing it worldwide, the sky’s the limit,” said Vice President of Administration Tom Ockenfels, co-chairman of the Exchange’s CFC campaign. “We’re trying to get as many people as possible to contribute and help those who are suffering during this unprecedented time.”
An annual tradition at Exchange headquarters, CFC is going worldwide for the first time this year, allowing all associates to make contributions. While associates largely contributed via payroll deduction in the past, they may now make one-time contributions or schedule monthly donations via the CFC website using their credit or debit card or bank account.
“You can make a contribution from the comfort of your own home,” said Associate Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Inclusion Officer Valerie Wagoner, co-chairwoman of the Exchange’s CFC campaign. “Deep down, people really want to help other people out; they just don’t know how. This campaign makes it easy.”
Besides allowing a much wider group of Exchange associates to contribute, the online campaign will also eliminate the need for costly paper forms to process payroll deductions.
