At Camp Walker’s Express, Ms. Song, Yong-chi is known for wearing a smile and bringing a helpful attitude.

Ms. Song was recognized Oct. 16 for her outstanding customer service and professionalism by Korea Southern Exchange General Manager William Ripley and Joseph Lee, 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command’s community relations director.

“I wanted to take a moment to express my sincerest appreciation and gratitude for the exceptional customer service from all of your AAFES Korean national employees here in Area IV,” Lee said. “I can certainly point out many of the exceptional employees by name, but I would like to specifically express my deepest appreciation to Ms. Song Yong-Chi.”

Ms. Song has been working for the Exchange for the past 20 years, and her friendly demeanor and smile make customers feel welcomed every time they step into the store.

“Every time I interacted with her, she greets me with the most pleasant smile whether she is busy or not,” Lee said. “She truly makes each customer feel like they’re from the same neighborhood where everyone knows each other by their first names.”

While Ms. Song’s customer service is exceptional, her hard work and dedication to her responsibilities are just as admirable.

“Ms. Song is an exemplary associate who I can trust to accomplish the needs of our customers whether it’s on the cash register or stocking shelves.” Ripley said. “She truly exemplifies our Exchange core values and the importance of serving our Area IV community.”

Ms. Song’s philosophy about customer service comes from the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

“As a customer, I wouldn’t want to go back to a store that I didn’t feel welcomed or not satisfied with their service,” Ms. Song said. “So that is why I try to provide the best customer service to everyone who comes in to my store.”
