The drive-thru event provided an alternative to traditional trick-or-treating.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, kids have missed out on some special events, but the Davis-Monthan Exchange ensured military children celebrated Halloween by supporting a community drive-thru trunk-or-treat Oct. 30.

More than 400 kids participated, with families driving through seven decorated stations to show off their costumes and collect candy. Everyone wore masks, hand sanitizer was available throughout, and those handing out candy wore gloves to ensure a safe celebration.

Loss Prevention and the local fire department handed out safety information, and the Force Support Squadron provided decorations. Two food trucks were available for hungry customers, as well

ā€œIt was a joy for the Exchange to support this fun celebration for our littlest Davis-Monthan heroes, especially in this tough year,ā€ said Davis-Monthan Exchange General Manager Mikel Hunter. ā€œEvents like this showcase that the Exchange is much more than just a place to shopā€”weā€™re a vital part of the community.ā€
