Joint Base Lewis-McChord Exchange Welcomes Petco’s First Military Location
America’s 1st Corps Commanding General Lt. Gen. Randy A. George helped Army & Air Force Exchange Service and Petco officials cut the ribbon on a new Petco store at the Fort Lewis Exchange shopping center Nov. 13.
The 2,800-square-foot Petco location, the first at a military installation, is the result of a partnership between the Army & Air Force Exchange Service and the pet retailer. In addition to its selection of pet supplies, a curated nutrition assortment, toys, apparel and more, the location will provide full-service pet grooming, self-wash stations and convenient curbside pickup options, among other offerings.
“Pets can provide critical support to military families facing deployments, frequent moves and other stressors that go along with the military lifestyle,” said Joint Base Lewis McChord Exchange General Manager Mike Einer. “The Exchange is committed to serving every member of the military family—even the furry ones—so we are honored to welcome Petco to the JBLM Exchange.”
Petco is just one of several additions to the updated Fort Lewis Exchange mall, which also includes an optical center, eyebrow threading studio, beauty salon and optical shop, as well as GameStop and GNC locations. More name-brand concepts, including Bath and Body Works, MAC Cosmetics and UPS, are expected to open this fall.
The store is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, call 253-620-7018 or visit stores.petco.com.
The JBLM Exchange is at Building 5280, Pendleton Avenue.
