Al Jaber Exchange Helps Celebrate Marines 245th Birthday
During the COVID-19 pandemic, associates with the Al Jaber Exchange stepped up to ensure the Marines didn’t miss out on a momentous occasion‒ their 245th birthday. Thanks to the hard work of the Al Jaber Exchange, Marines had a safe, sanitized and secure celebration.
Marines enjoyed food from Hunt Brothers Pizza, subs and sandwiches from Subway and a cake. The associates also hosted a raffle, giving away several prizes.
“We couldn’t have done this without the support of Hunt Brothers Pizza and Subway,” said Kuwait General Manager Ed Hicks. “We wanted to show our support and make sure these Marines were taken care of.”
The Al Jaber Exchange team enjoys hosting events to highlight the military and the men and women who are away from their homes and families. Al Jaber Exchange Manager Nelia McHale and Ops Squad Supervisor Isabella Lancaster were instrumental in setting up and coordinating the celebration for the Marines.
“Nelia and Isabella did a phenomenal job,” Hicks said. “The Marines were very thankful for the food and prizes. Seeing their smiles and knowing we are the reason for it really makes these events worthwhile.”
Exchange Vice President for Southwest Asia Region Phil Tinsley was also on site, dishing out food and handing out prizes.
“This is what it’s all about,” Tinsley said. “We support the men and women in uniform who sacrifice so much for their country and we show them we are their home away from home.”
