It’s Army-Navy Game Time – and the Exchange Will Be at the Game and on TV
The Army-Navy Game is headed to West Point for the first time since World War II—and the Exchange will be sharing relevancy messages with the future military leaders at the game and millions of viewers across the Nation.
This marks the third year the Exchange is a participating partner of the Army-Navy Game. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the game moved to West Point’s Michie Stadium, where attendance is limited to Cadets and Midshipmen.
“Since the Exchange became a participating partner in 2018, the Army-Navy Game has been an incredible opportunity for the Exchange to share our message of service and support to all who wear the uniform past, present and future,” said Director/CEO Tom Shull, USMA Class of 1973. “During this unprecedented year, the game takes on even greater meaning. The historic rivalry and its return to West Point are testaments to America’s resiliency. It is a privilege to be part of the game and share the Exchange’s mission in-person and with millions of fans at home.”
At Michie Stadium, a mobile field Exchange and special Army-Navy Game tractor-trailer will be on site to greet the young service members, reminding them that the Exchange will be with them every step of the way during their military careers. Prepackaged snacks will be handed out to the Cadets and Midshipmen, thanks to the Exchange’s Merchandising Directorate.
During the national broadcast (on CBS at 3 p.m. Eastern), an Exchange commercial, produced in-house, will welcome home all honorably discharged Veterans to their lifelong tax-free online shopping benefit at ShopMyExchange.com. The commercial will also remind all service-connected disabled Veterans that they can now use their benefit in stores—a benefit that’s still in its first year.
On the stadium video board, a special message of thanks and support to service members from Mark Wahlberg will air, courtesy of the Exchange, marking the third straight year the Hollywood A-lister has had a presence, albeit virtual, at the game.
“Lasting memories for our future leaders are created at the Army-Navy Game,” Shull said. “Being part of this storied rivalry shows the Exchange’s dedication to serving those who serve from Day One.”
