Where to Learn More About COVID-19 Vaccines

Have questions about the COVID-19 vaccines? Good news—the Centers for Disease Control has answers.

Exchange associates can visit the CDC’s official website for information about the vaccines, including frequently asked questions; benefits of receiving the vaccine; safety information; what to expect when receiving a vaccine; and more.

“It’s normal to have questions as the vaccination rollout continues,” said Lt. Col. Michael Hansen, DVM, MPH, the Exchange’s Public Health and Food Safety Office director. “The CDC’s website is an excellent resource to quickly find essential information.”

The CDC website includes an extensive section focusing on the virus itself, including information on symptoms and testing; tips on protecting yourself and others from infection; guidelines on when to quarantine; and recommendations for traveling during the pandemic.

“While vaccinations have already started, we’re not out of the woods yet,” Hansen said. “It’s imperative to maintain the CDC’s best practices for the pandemic, including wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart and avoiding crowds.

“We’ve already made it this far together—if we stay the course, we can see this through to the end.”

Associates can find additional resources, including information from the Army, Air Force and Exchange healthcare partners, in the COVID-19 toolkit, located on the Exchange Human Resources portal.
