125 Years of Family Serving Family – Audry McGhee, HQ

NameBadge

One in a series honoring the Exchange’s 125 years of family serving family.

The Exchange created an indelible impression on Audry McGhee as a child – an impression that has stuck ever since.

Exchange Employee Relocation Manager Audry McGhee was first introduced to the Exchange by her father, a retired Army medic.

“Growing up we used to visit the Exchange and the one thing that I remember is the smiling faces of the associates and the way they treated us,” the Exchange Employee Relocation manager said. “They made us feel that we were their family and that tradition continues to this day.”

That initial impression was cultivated by her father, a retired Army medic who shopped at the Exchange, and nurtured by her husband, Ray McGhee, a retired Army Veteran who works at HQ in Procurement. She also has a sister and niece who worked for the Exchange.

“I love the Exchange because it’s always been there for my family,” said McGhee, who has two brothers who served in the Army and another who served in the Navy.

Her job has taken her all over the world and she’s learned something from every stop – which includes Exchanges in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

“The Exchange has given me the opportunity to continue to serve,” McGhee said. “‘Family serving family’ has special meaning for me.”

Facebook-friendly version: For the past 23 years, Audry McGhee has officially called the Exchange home – in reality she’s been home all of her life, when her parents introduced her to the Exchange experience.

I would love to become a member of the Exchange family. I have recently moved to the Fayetteville NC area. My last position was Assistant District Manger at Ultratan. I was with them for 5 years. My husband was in the Army for 23 years and is now retired. I have put in a resume and application but sadly I haven’t heard anything.
