COVID-19 Heroes: Germany Services Team Delivers Personal Touch

More than 50 Exchange concessionaires at Baumholder, Kleber, Landstuhl, Vogelweh, Panzer and Ramstein received a thank you letter from Exchange Director/CEO Tom Shull and Chief Operating Officer Jason Rosenberg—with a personal touch.
The letter was sent to all Exchange service business managers to share with their concessionaires, but Kaiserslautern Military Community SBM Lani Chandler and her team hand-delivered the letter to their concessionaires, also including copies in their native language.
“These businesses have continued to support the military community through the difficulties of the pandemic,” Chandler said. “Our concessionaire partners were very grateful for the acknowledgement and many proudly displayed the letter for shoppers to see.”

More than 50 Exchange concessionaires received the letters, which thanked them for their perseverance through the the COVID-19 pandemic.
The letter thanked the businesses for persevering and in serving and keeping the military community safe through the pandemic.
“You have worked long hours and made personal sacrifices, while remaining flexible and focused on protecting the force,” the letter stated. “We remain confident that, with your continued support, 2021 will be a great year together!”
Col. Scott McFarland, commander of the Exchange’s Europe/SW Asia Region, praised Chandler and her team for bringing a personalized touch.
“To hand-deliver these messages shows our care for their business and their employees,” McFarland said.
For Chandler and her team, it’s about supporting and building relationships with Exchange concessionaires, not just as a business, but as people.
“We love our community and the businesses who help support our service members and their families,” Chandler said. “This has been an exceptionally difficult year for all of us because of the pandemic, and we are honored to show how much we appreciate them.”
That’s awesome and encouraging. Simple acts of kindness in these trying times goes a long way.
