Operation: Call Out — Pacific Region

Pacific Region has nominated and selected Alexandria Roney, Luke Wiegand and Jacinto Aguilar for going above and beyond to take care of our customers. “Family Serving Family” or as they say in Hawaii, “Ohana Serving Ohana” is more important now then ever, and these associates take providing exceptional customer service to heart.  They represent some of the “best of the best” from the Pacific Region.  “Pacific Pride!

Alexandria Roney

Humphreys Main Store — Customer Experience Associate

In April 2020, Humphreys launched the curbside pickup/BOPIS service. Alex joined the Ops Team to create the advertisement video, leading to over 500 curbside pickups in the first month and over 25,000 orders since the program began.  As a PAR and administrator for our Facebook page, Alex assists our quarantined community with their orders through FB direct messages. She maintains connections with local quarantine support groups to help disseminate information and assist customers in need. Alex has coordinated special deliveries, such as medications, to ensure quarantined customers’ needs are met. She hand-delivered updated ordering instructions to every quarantine barracks’ CQ desk so the correct information was posted.

Luke Wiegand

Camp Kinser Pizza Hut — Food Service Foreman

Camp Kinser was recently under a restriction of movement and Luke went above and beyond to save a little boy’s birthday. Our customers were so happy, they left an online comment to thank and praise Luke and the team. “It was my son’s 8th birthday, and we had a big weekend planned. Unfortunately, a few days before we were put on ROM. My son was devastated, and as his parents, we were too.  Luke placed the pepperoni in the shape of an ‘8’ on the pizza and wrote ‘Happy Birthday!’ on the box. It made my son’s birthday special for him. Thank you for your personal and prompt service!  Keep it up!”

Jacinto Aguilar

Hawaii Exchange — Vending Programs

Mr. Aguilar goes well beyond his primary responsibilities of managing the Hawaii Consolidated Exchange’s vending programs. Whether he is assisting with sign requests, submitting work orders or ensuring general compliance by our contractors, he is always looking for ways to support the team and keep AAFES standards high. He has been instrumental in saving the Exchange over $10,000 in expenses by taking on the task of replacing light bulbs and ballasts in our concession spaces and utilizing LED bulbs when they’re compatible. Not only has this contributed to our bottom line and dividend that gives back to the community, but it has also made the Exchange a greener operator by lowering future bulb replacement and energy costs. Our “Aloha” goes out to Mr. Aguilar who is Ohana Serving Ohana!
