Know Your Juneteenth Trivia? BRIDGE’s Trivia Contest Will Test Your Knowledge Level

Exchange BRIDGE Special Emphasis Group

Saturday is Juneteenth, commemorating the June 19, 1865, date that news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Texas – more than two years after the proclamation had been signed.

The holiday marks the end of slavery in the United States.

In honor of the holiday, Building Resources in Diversity Growth of Employees (BRIDGE), one of the Exchange’s eight Special Emphasis Programs, is sponsoring a Juneteenth 2021 Trivia Contest. Questions about Juneteenth history will be posted every day this week.

Three questions will be posted via email Monday through Thursday, and five on Friday. The winners of the contest will be announced June 21. Book prizes will also be awarded to a regional winner daily, including biographies and cookbooks containing recipes and reflections on African American cooking. Book prizes include “Recipes for the Good Life” by Patti LaBelle, “Just As I Am” by Cicely Tyson, and more.
