OPERATION: Call Out — Europe/SWA Region

The hard work and dedication to our service men and women provided by Elke D’Souza, Chris Anderson and Osama Alzyod are outstanding. Their efforts to continuously find new ways to provide  extra customer care are appreciated, and we are proud to have them on the Europe team!

Elke D’Souza
Salesclerk Supervisor
Kaiserlautern Military Community Center

Elke’s three words, “Are you OK?” prompted a retired colonel to seek out management to praise her actions.  He explained that he had sustained war wounds, had cancer and suffers from vertigo. He had taken a seat on a patio set in outdoor living to rest. When Elke approached him, he feared she was going to ask him to leave due to COVID measures that had been put into place. The colonel had tears in his eyes as he explained how touched he was by Elke’s concern and complimented her excellent customer service skills. Her heartfelt gesture will remain with him always. Elke is a true example of “family serving family,” and we are proud to have her on the KMCC team!

Chris Anderson
Taco Bell Food Service Worker
Lakenheath

Chris has been instrumental in helping Lakenheath Taco Bell become number one worldwide, with average ticket sales of $11.76. In a recent regional competition to increase add-on sales of cinnamon twists, he trained his colleagues to use phrases such as, “Would you like to purchase some fresh, hot, cinnamon twists today, or would you like three bags of fresh cinnamon twists today for the price of two?” to increase their add-on sales.  With Chris’s perseverance and tenacity, this facility improved its cinnamon twist sales by 193% and the overall number of cinnamon twists sold for the month was 1,189 with total sales of $1,783 on our top-line sales. Chris himself managed to sell 604 twists for a total of $904, or 51% of the sales. He is one of the UK’s superstars and an asset to both the Exchange and the Lakenheath community.

Osama Alzyod
Store Manager
Jordan JTC Exchange

Mr. Osama Alzyod has worked with the Exchange for seven years. After four years of hard work and dedication, he moved up to store manager from cashier/stocker. Osama’s determination and ever-growing drive to improve the service and store operations is highly commendable.  He actively works with command to coordinate rodeo trips to “undisclosed locations.” His team has successfully completed more than 327 rodeo missions just within the past 12 months and has generated more than $232,000 in sales, helping the Exchange serve countless deployed troops at the tip of the spear in challenging conditions. Osama’s team helps the Exchange provide our deployed troops with small comforts of life and a taste of home. We thank him for his outstanding service and contribution to the Exchange mission — he goes where they go!
