Western Region recognizes Michelle Matienzo, Yehimeline Medina and Kevin McKenner for their outstanding hard work and unwavering dedication to our customers.

The Travis Exchange would like to recognize Panda Express restaurant General Manager Michelle Matienzo. Michelle’s hard work and dedication to customer service have not gone unnoticed. In the year 2020, she successfully led her team in providing 13% of overall services sales, placing her in third place, and 12% to the overall services bottom line, placing her in first place. As we drive into 2021, Michelle continues to adapt effortlessly to sudden changes without complaint, making her a contender for the second place spot, at 3% sales over 2021 YTD.  She ensures her team is trained to provide the top-rate customer service that is expected by the great men and women of Travis AFB.  Even with the hardship of staffing due to COVID, Michelle provides outstanding customer service with a smile to the customers at the Travis Exchange.

Yehimeline Medina, or Yehimy as we call her, is the daughter of a retired Soldier from Puerto Rico who came to Colorado after Hurricane Maria. She has been with the Fort Carson Exchange since February 2018. She began as a food service worker and has demonstrated a desire to grow and go to the next level. Now as a foreman, she is demonstrating her outstanding leadership and customer-service skills. She continuously shows her appreciation for our customers and takes great pride in her work. Yehimy has received multiple customer comments about her friendly disposition and the quality of her work. She is a superstar that will continue to shine for us!!

Kevin McKenner exemplifies Family Serving Family through his community presence. He attends all of our family events with the base tenants and comes up with different ways to bring the community to our table. Through different-themed hats celebrating an upcoming holiday to learning how to make balloon animals for children, Kevin is focused on making our customers’ experiences with us a memorable one.  As a Veteran, Kevin ensures he gives the customers the experience he wanted when he was in the Army.  Recently, he became the supervisor of Outdoor Living and Hardlines. During his time there, Kevin has helped the Main Store take the lead in the new MILITARY STAR Card accounts for the quarter among Western region small stores.
