Exchange Cosmetics, Jewelry Vendors set to Dazzle with Glam Virtual Conference Starting Oct. 4

GlamSeminar

From Oct. 4 through Oct. 8, Exchange associates worldwide can go through a Glam period.

Those are the dates for the 2021 Glam Virtual Conference, during which associates can learn about new trends in cosmetics, fragrances and jewelry. This will be the first Glam Conference since 2017, and the first held online.

Vendor training will be on-demand, so associates can learn at their convenience. The conference will include more than 20 hours of content from more than 40 suppliers.

“We will have our suppliers present in segments across our key brands, directly to the field,” said Marissa Carpenter, vice president of Merchandising-Softlines for the Exchange, “There are a lot of new and exciting things happening in beauty, from new innovations in skin care to new brands that are being launched with a clean initiative, or even existing brands using clean ingredients in their products.”

The Exchange does a strong beauty business in the fourth quarter, and holiday books and beauty books are still to come. The conference is a way to engage associates about what’s happening and will include information about gift sets and new brand launches.

“The buyers get to hear from the suppliers and these brands all the time,” Carpenter said, “but this is a time where the stores can hear from them as well.”

“In the beauty space, the vendor can spend so much more time and effort on marketing and education of the products because there are so many new components and technology,” Carpenter said. “It’s a great benefit for the vendors to do the educating for the Glam Seminar.”

Lancôme and Shiseido will be among the top brands presenting. Jewelry suppliers be represented by such top suppliers including Citizen, Bulova and Casio (watches) Unique Designs (diamonds), Imperial Delta (pearls) and Midas Chain (gold/diamonds)

Cosmetics and jewelry have been performing well for the Exchange. Year-to-date, cosmetic sales are up nearly 10% over 2020, and fine jewelry is up more than 30%.

Registration deadline is Sept. 27. To register, go here.
