Exchange Earns Eighth Consecutive Recognition as Best for Vets: Employer
Military Times has named the Exchange a Best for Vets: Employer for the eighth year in a row.
The Department of Defense’s largest retailer, which earlier this year surpassed its goal to hire 50,000 Veterans and military spouses, is one of 161 companies to earn a place on the publication’s annual list of leading Veteran employers.
Best for Vets: Employer rankings are based on a voluntary survey covering the policies and practices that make companies an attractive place to work for current employees and future job seekers within the military community.
The Exchange earned the ranking in recognition of its programs to attract and retain Veterans, inclusive hiring practices and more.
“The Exchange is family serving family, and we are honored to have earned a place on the 2021 Best for Vets: Employers list,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Osby, Exchange senior enlisted advisor. “Having been Exchange shoppers themselves, Veterans are uniquely suited to the Exchange’s mission of serving those who serve. We are deeply grateful that so many have decided to continue serving this great Nation as members of the Exchange team.”
The Exchange plans to hire an additional 25,000 Veterans and military spouses over the next five years, aiming for a total of 75,000 by 2026.
Of the Exchange’s 29,500 associates, 10.2% are Veterans, and the Exchange has hired more than 1,800 Wounded Warriors since 2010. 85% of Exchange associates are connected to the military.
