Ofelia Romero

Ofelia Romero has been an outstanding Barber Shop manager for the Kirtland Exchange. Her commitment to customers is matched by her hard work and dedication. She has been instrumental in promoting the Military Star card benefits to all her customers. As a result, she improved Barber Shop MilStar penetration from 2.85% LY20 to 3.41% YTD. Ms. Romero understands the importance of maintaining Exchange and military safety standards and has never failed a public health nspection. She follows Exchange and Command COVID-19 policies and makes sure she complies. When the base asked Ms. Romero is she could come to the restricted area to cut hair for restricted Airmen, she didn’t think twice. The Airmen were being held in a restricted area awaiting deployment and she came to them and made sure they got their haircuts.

Chung goes above and beyond every single day to provide the best possible customer service for our service members and their families. Her smile and banter as she interacts with customers is fun to watch. Every customer walks away with a smile on their face and for a moment, she whisks them away to a happier place. As the mother-in-law of a service member, she understands the concept of family serving family, and goes above and beyond to make sure every customer departs happy. She is truly an invaluable asset to the JBLM Exchange and deserving of this special recognition!
I enjoyed working with Angel Torres in the SCAX-EFO under Donald L Huston back in the 80s and 90s at Norton AFB and then March AFB when Norton closed. A very dedicated team player.
