Three Reasons to Follow the Exchange’s Associate-Focused Internal Social Media Pages

From Kadena Air Force Base to Kaiserlautern Military Community, the Exchange team is worldwide. Internal social media pages bring associates together, whether they’re near or far.

The Exchange has three social-media accounts that are focused on team accomplishments and best practices.

The worldwide connection: @ExchangeAssoc pages highlight the amazing work Exchange  associates do each day while highlighting store and distribution center team achievements and events.

“Our internal social-media pages are an ideal way to connect and engage,” said Exchange COO Jason Rosenberg. “Teammates can share in celebrations and achievements at locations around the world.”

Current photos of in-store events, including Black Friday or Halloween, are among the most popular posts.

Strengthening hard-earned benefits: Internal social media pages connect Team Exchange. The @ExchangeAssoc pages can even help with associate retention during a tight labor market.

“Our future leaders are active on the Exchange’s internal social media channels today,” said Dr. Patrick Oldenburgh, chief Human Resources officer. “They are playing an active role in strengthening the benefit and sharing best practices to drive improvement across the organization.”

A 24/7 celebration of you: Until the @ExchangeAssoc Twitter was created in January 2014, Exchange associates didn’t have an official way to connect via social media. The @ExchangeAssoc Instagram followed in 2015.

Response has been good, especially from 2018 through 2020, when followers on each account grew by more than 10% each year. In 2021 the Twitter account has grown nearly 2.5% over 2020, and Instagram grew by more than 5%.

But there’s always room for more engagement.

“Every associate is encouraged to join the discussions occurring in our internal social media channels,” said Sandi Lute, senior vice president of Corporate Communication. “Each post makes our team and organization better equipped to serve those who serve.”
