OPERATION: Call Out—Pacific Region

Thank you to all our team members for consistently going above and beyond, every day, to serve the “Best Customers in the World.” This month’s PAC region Call Outs have shown through their actions what’s important is remembering to take care of the customer. They truly took the extra time to listen, respond, take action to Make it Better and Solve for Yes! Thank you, Philip “Allen” Steadman, Bon Rodriguez and Kiyofumi Kusato, not only for doing the right thing, but for your dedicated service and being a great example of what “Family Serving Family” truly means.  Pacific Pride!

Philip “Allen” Steadman, Jr.
Shift Manager
Kadena Olympic Express – Okinawa Exchange

We recently received a customer comment about Mr. Steadman’s dedication and the amazing service he has provided our valued customers throughout his years at the Exchange.  “For the last six years my family has used the Olympic Shoppette for our last-minute needs before any adventure on the island or the beach. The assistant manager, “Allen,” has always greeted my children with a smile, he remembers what we usually buy for our trips, and he even gives us tips on new store items. He will never know how much it means to be remembered by name, and we truly appreciate the hometown feel patriots get when they come into the store. Our family would like Allen to be recognized for the care and customer service he brings to the Exchange. THANK YOU, ALLEN, for giving us the feeling of being in our hometown.  We are leaving the island, but we will never forget him, and we hope to see him when we return in the future.”

Bon Rodriguez
Starbucks
Hickam Air Force Base

Hickam Starbucks recently received a customer comment for Bon Rodriguez, stating how delighted the customer was with the service he received during his visit. During the last couple of weeks, Hickam Starbucks has been faced with many staffing shortages due to COVID-related incidents, leaving the facility with less than half its crew to perform operations. Bon took it upon himself to help and asked his permanent state job to allow him to take the graveyard shift, 8 p.m.–5 a.m., for two weeks to provide us 8-hour shift coverage during the busiest time of the day. This shift is normally staffed by seven workers, and it is currently down to three  Despite the extra work, Bon works tirelessly without complaint.  He cares about his customers and displays great dedication to the needs of the facility, the company’s values, and the Exchange mission. Thank you, Bon!

Kiyofumi Kusato
Vending Mechanic
Okinawa Exchange

Last November, Mr. Kusato became a member of the Okinawa Services team. His years of work experience at Hansen Vending as a warehouseman, a route man and a foreman have without a doubt greatly contributed to the Exchange. Since Mr. Kusato came on board, there has hardly been an “out of order” sign in sight at our various car washes and laundromats. He alone is responsible for maintaining a total of 136 machines on the island and is always willing to take on extra responsibilities, including Vending Inspections for 1000 contractor Concession Vending machines, all while completing his daily duties. Mr. Kusato’s hard work and dedication are proven in Dec’s year-to-date sales of $386,000 or 15.9% above financial plan. and YTD December direct earnings are $244,000, or 68% above financial plan.  We are very proud of Mr. Kusato’s technical knowledge, vending expertise, and willingness to support customers and concessionaires, and we are very fortunate to have him as a member of Okinawa Services.
