FORT HOOD – With the snip of a ribbon, American Eagle Outfitters officially landed  on Feb. 18 at the Fort Hood PX, the first Exchange to offer the iconic denim brand in-store. American Eagle launched at ShopMyExchange.com the same day.

Exchange Softlines Vice President Marissa Carpenter, Divisional Merchandise Managers Lisa Wilburn and Mary Davich, and buyers Tracey Caple and Timothy Creek joined Fort Hood Exchange Store Manager Robert Woods, Sales Area Manager Ruza Long and American Eagle representative Jason Schuck to cut the ribbon on the new section.

PX associates handed out American Eagle coupons encouraging shoppers to shop the collection. Koriea Nesbitt, an Army brat from Lampasas, Texas, among the first to browse the shelves with her family.

“My family is taking a trip to Walt Disney World in May, so we’re here shopping for shirts, pants and everything we need,” she said. “I was told about American Eagle at the door and came straight to the junior’s section with my mom. I’m excited they have American Eagle here!”

The Exchange’s Corporate Communication team captured the excitement live on Facebook, helping spread the news of the launch. (Click here to see the video.)

The addition of American Eagle is part of the Exchange’s longstanding commitment to improving the shopping experience for military shoppers.

“The Exchange is pleased to give shoppers their favorite brand tax-free and at a discount,” Carpenter said. “American Eagle is now landing in stores and at ShopMyExchange.com, and there are more exciting brands to come.”

Exchange buyers worked to bring American Eagle to ShopMyExchange.com and stores for more than a year—putting the needs of military shoppers first.

“The Exchange has always been known for giving customers fabulous brands at a better price—and American Eagle fits that lineup,” said Caple, the young men’s buyer for the Exchange.  “To have an affordable, good-quality product by a well-known brand offered outside of the gates is a plus.”

American Eagle’s on-trend men’s and women’s clothing selection at Fort Hood Exchange includes denim jeans, shorts, skirts, T-shirts, tops and more—offered at 20% off suggested retail price.

“We negotiate the right products for the right price at the right time for military shoppers,” said Creek, ladieswear buyer for the Exchange. “It’s a great privilege to offer Warfighters and their families another nationally recognized brand.”

American Eagle will be added to more than 30 Exchange stores throughout 2022.
