FORT HOOD – For only the second time, BE FIT Ambassador Roy Montez took the Exchange’s “BE FIT Live” program on the road for a suspension trainer demonstration with TRX® Training at the Fort Hood Exchange.

Exchange “BE FIT” Ambassador Roy Montez and TRX representative L.J. Eve demonstrate TRX’s suspension trainer for Sgt. Mario Gay at Fort Hood.

Montez and TRX representative L.J. Eve hosted the March 23 event, where Montez tested Soldiers’ strength using TRX’s suspension trainer, spoke with Soldiers about their physical test requirements and shared the benefits of suspension training to meet their fitness goals whether at home or deployed.

“Keeping Soldiers ready and resilient throughout their time in uniform is the Exchange’s goal,” Montez said. “This event helped us educate Sgt,Soldiers on the foundational movements when using the suspension trainer—helping them stay Army Strong.”

The Exchange has taken BE FIT on the road one other time, with Montez leading a workout with Soldiers at Fort Leonard Wood last year. Montez hopes to expand BE FIT events to other locations in the continental United States, communicating the BE FIT program and empowering military shoppers, their families and the broader military community to choose a healthy lifestyle.

“The mission of BE FIT resonates strongly when we’re face-to-face with our shoppers,” Montez said. “We’re able to show Warfighters how our products can benefit their lifestyle. Whether it’s a product demonstration or a live workout, in-store events help us connect with shoppers on a better level.”

At Fort Hood, Soldiers found the demonstration educational and beneficial. Fort Hood Soldier Sgt. Mario Gay was impressed by the suspension trainer’s ability to boost his usual workout.

“In minutes, my chest was burning,” Gay said. “I’m getting the tactical suspension trainer today.”

“We saw this event as a great opportunity to sell our TRX merchandise to Soldiers who want to work out at home,” said Fort Hood Exchange Sales and Merchandise Manager Blanca Lara. “We’ve had TRX in-store for a few years now and we wanted to bring the community out to see a demonstration of the products we have to offer.”

The Exchange’s Corporate Communication team streamed the demonstration live on Facebook, which drew more than 7,300 viewers.
