‘The Great Place’ Gets Greater with Renovated Express
The Fort Hood Exchange is bringing an updated shopping experience to Soldiers, retirees and families with the recent renovation of the 1st Cavalry Express.
The upgrade includes a new layout, coolers, flooring, fixtures and paint and an expanded Snack Avenue at the Express, as well as the addition of a Hunt Brothers Pizza.
Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Matthew Ladd helped Fort Hood Exchange General Manager Adam Shaw cut the ribbon on the renovated Express on May 13.
The $578,000 project, funded by the Exchange, is the latest step in the Exchange’s commitment to making life better at Fort Hood.
In the past year, the Exchange has also opened a Freshens Fresh Food Studio in the TJ Mills food court; added Chopz and Eddie Peppers restaurants at the III Corps Express; opened a Bath & Body Works; opened a 24/7 micro market at 1st Cavalry Division headquarters; introduced DoorDash food delivery service to the post; and more.
Next up is a uBreakiFix cellphone and computer repair shop at the Clear Creek mall next month and The Joint chiropractic office later this year.
“The Exchange is all in for our Soldiers, retirees and families at Fort Hood,” Shaw said. “It’s a privilege for us to serve here at the Great Place.”
