Life can come at you fast. This was true for the Exchange’s Human Resources Support Center manager, Rhonda Moncrief.

A few years ago, Moncrief and her husband PCS’d from Germany to Alabama. “We were there a couple of months when a sheriff came to the door with a summons for us to appear in court about a debt owed to someone locally from a few years back,” she said.

Moncrief remembered that the Exchange’s Employee Assistance Program offered legal services and made the call. She was connected to the legal department, which referred her to a local lawyer. In a day or so, the attorney’s office called back and had resolved the mistake.

“Someone found our name on public record, which was the same name as the actual debtor,” she said. “We didn’t have to go anywhere, spend anything and we didn’t lose any time. It just took one call to fix what otherwise could have been a very stressful and costly situation.”

Getting the help you need when you need it is easy with the Exchange’s EAP services. The Exchange’s EAP vendor, Magellan, offers a broad variety of services to help assist. Associates—and their household members—can participate in the program to improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, finances and more.

As part of your employee benefits, you have free 24/7 access to EAP services including:

  • Counseling: You can get help with managing stress, anxiety, grief, relationship concerns and more.
  • Coaching: This offering can help you achieve your goals with accountability from a coach.
  • Online programs: Use self-guided, interactive apps to help with feelings and emotions associated with depression, chronic pain and more.
  • Work-life web services: You can find resources for child care, elder care, discounts on services and more.
  • Legal, financial and ID theft services: You have access to free consultations and resources for legal matters.

“These services are another a way the Exchange serves our family,” said Moncrief, who works within the Exchange’s HR directorate to manage and promote the EAP. “Identity-theft prevention, financial coaching, legal issues, wills, even discounts on gym memberships and health care items are a few of the many offerings for associates.”

Associates can participate in any program with complete confidentiality. For added convenience, associates can also access special support services from their mobile device through apps:

  • Neuroflow is the emotional well-being app, assisting associates with mental health concerns.
  • Better Help provides counseling to associates through chat and text features and virtual meetings through the app.
  • LifeMart lists a variety of discounts exclusive to Exchange associates.

Associates are encouraged to use the free services as desired. To find a program that’s right for you, call the Exchange’s Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-424-5988 and get connected with the right resource or professional through Magellan.
