The Exchange expanded its dining portfolio with the addition of a dual concept Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins at Fort Polk.

Fort Polk Commanding General Brigadier General David R. Gardner, Garrison Commander Col. Samuel P. Smith, Command Sgt. Maj. Stephen R. Nielson and Logan Morris of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce joined local Exchange leaders in cutting the ribbon on both Dunkin’, which offers fresh-brewed coffee and tea, breakfast sandwiches, doughnuts, bagels, muffins and more, and Baskin-Robbins, which offers ice cream, sundaes and more. Shoppers enjoyed free doughnuts and a photo-op with the Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins mascots.

Fort Polk is part of a pilot program to improve the Quality of Life for Soldiers and their families at austere locations. The program, which also includes Forts Irwin and Wainwright, plans upgrades to main stores and Expresses, on-post dining and Wi-Fi infrastructure while extending job opportunities to military spouses and Veterans.

“Bringing Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins to the community is part of the Exchange’s longstanding commitment to improving the Quality of Life at Fort Polk,” said General Manager Tammar Tracey. “The Exchange looks forward to continuing to make Fort Polk a better place to live and work.”

The dual concept is in Building 503, taking the place of Huddle House and expanding the Exchange’s footprint to another area of the community. Fort Polk also welcomed Slim Chickens and upgraded the Starbucks this quarter. More Exchange improvements are on the way including the expansion and renovation of the mini mall.

This is the ninth Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins dual concept in the Exchange dining lineup. The Exchange has more than 40 Dunkin’ and more than 20 Baskin-Robbins operations at Army and Air Force installations worldwide.

Dining with the Exchange benefits Warfighters and military families, as 100% of Exchange earnings support the community. In the last 10 years, the Exchange worldwide has provided $3.5 billion in earnings for critical military Quality-of-Life programs.
