The 12-year-old theater, owned by VSS-Southern Theatres, was updated to Grand Premium Experience (GPX) standards, which include bigger screens, 4k laser projection, Dolby Atmos® sound, heated recliner seating and armchair tables.
“The upgrades at The Grand 10 Fort Bliss theater reflect the Exchange’s commitment to enhancing the lives of our service members, retirees and military families,” said Rena Arnold, Exchange leasing director. “We’re thrilled to partner with Southern Theatres to bring such a fun experience to the Fort Bliss community.”
Concessions offerings were also expanded, and the theater now houses a full-service bar with indoor and outdoor seating.
Fort Bliss and 1st Armored Division Deputy Commanding General–Operations Brig. Gen. Michael Simmering joined Southern Theatres and Exchange leaders in cutting the ribbon on the upgraded cinema.
The theater is the latest in the improvements the Exchange is bringing to the Fort Bliss community. A dental office, Dragonfly Sushi and Smoothie King are all set to open in the coming weeks, and a Bath & Body Works is planned for the end of the year.

It is great to have a theater on the bases. I wish Barksdale would get one.
