Fort Leonard Wood Serves Community with New Concepts Bunker 27 and Haute Dawgs
The Fort Leonard Wood Exchange welcomed Bunker 27 and Haute Dawgs to the retail and dining lineup—giving the community an enhanced shopping and dining experience.
Fort Leonard Wood Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Randolph Delapena helped cut the ribbon on Bunker 27, which opened the week of July 26.
“Our installation has a lot of trainees and family members who come in for graduation,” said General Manager Donald Cantwell. “Before the addition of Bunker 27, we didn’t have a military-themed apparel offering.”
The Veteran-owned clothing store offers military-themed apparel and accessories for all branches. Shoppers can pick up hats, patches, bags, vintage style T-shirts and more.
The military community can also now order gourmet hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, breakfast and more at the newly relocated Haute Dawgs Gourmet Hot Dogs & Eatery.
The restaurant opened July 26. Haute Dawgs provides made-to-order meals in the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and gives service members and those working at the installation headquarters a new option for lunch.
“Haute Dawgs serves a lot of people who can’t leave the building for lunch,” Cantwell said. “The community was very excited to have another option beyond snacks.”
Military shoppers at Fort Leonard Wood can look forward to more improvements this fall and into early 2023. The Exchange will welcome Dunkin’ and new micro markets. The Military Clothing store and the South Express will be updated as well.
