Send us Your Hispanic Heritage Month Photos for a Special Flickr Album!
National Hispanic Heritage Month is in full swing at the Exchange and will continue through Oct. 15. The commemoration began Sept. 15, which marked the anniversary of the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence.
The Exchange’s ¡HOLA! special emphasis group is celebrating with features and events all month long. ¡HOLA!, which stands for Hispanic Outreach, Leadership & Awareness, is one of eight special emphasis groups at the Exchange focused on promoting a positive workplace culture and communicating diversity awareness.
On Oct. 6, ¡HOLA! executive champion Tony Pares will deliver a lunch and learn, sharing his path from a sales associate to current regional vice president. The monthly celebration will wrap up with a cookbook of associates’ favorite Spanish recipes. To submit a recipe for the cookbook, email Jose Hernandez at hernandezjose2@aafes.com or Dora Trillo at trillode@aafes.com.
The Exchange social media team has already received many photo submissions from stores and associates celebrating the month, such as the one above, from the Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Air Force Base Exchange’s celebration. You can view these photos on Exchange Associate Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and in a special Flickr album.
Have photos from your own store’s celebration? Please send high-res versions as attachments to exchangepost@aafes.com or socialmedia@aafes.com and we’ll add them to the Flickr album and other social-media sites.
