Nation’s Network Wants You to ‘Rock Your Mocs’ for Native American Heritage Month

For the first time since 2020, special emphasis program Nation’s Network is encouraging stores to participate in Rock Your Mocs, which is taking place this week as part of National Native American Heritage Month.

Established in 2011, Rock Your Mocs is a worldwide Native American & Indigenous Peoples virtual unity event. During Rock Your Mocs, people wear moccasins, take a photo, create a video or story, add the hashtag #ROCKYOURMOCS and upload to social media.

Originally celebrated on Nov. 15, “Rock Your Mocs” has been expanded to a week to create more event opportunity days. This year’s event concludes Nov. 19.

Associates are encouraged to submit photos of moccasins or other “Rock Your Mocs” wear being worn or displayed. Please submit photos to exchangepost@aafes.com and socialmedia@aafes.com. Photos featuring Rock Your Moccasins T-shirts or turquoise awareness ribbons will also be accepted. Photos should be sent as high-res jpeg attachments (and not in the body of the email).

During “Rock Your Mocs” week, which concludes Nov. 19, people take pictures of themselves wearing mocassins, Rock Your Moccasins T-shirts or turquoise awareness ribbons and post them them to social media for Native American Heritage Month.

During Native American Heritage Month, Nation’s Network, the Exchange’s American Indian/Alaskan Native Special Emphasis Program, encourages stores and associates to make connections to Native American cultures and bring awareness to the commemoration by inviting Native American vendors to display their wares in Exchange malls.
