OPERATION: Call Out—Europe/SWA Region
The hard work and dedication to our service men and women provided by Shwan Mahmud, Itzel Lokeni and Elena Terranova are outstanding. Their efforts to continuously find new ways to provide that extra customer care are appreciated, and we are proud to have them on the Europe team!
Shwan Mahmud
Facility Supervisor
Erbil PX Iraq
Shwan Mahmud is a talented and resourceful facility supervisor at the Erbil PX. He ensures the facility always runs smoothly by maintaining, repairing, replacing and building fixtures and equipment as needed. Shwan designed and built the facility break room from scratch. The break room is used by all team members to rest, relax and rejuvenate, strengthening their unity as an Exchange family and maximizing our teams’ service to our customers. Another example of Shwan’s dedication to our customers: He assisted a customer with a flat bicycle tire. He located the correct inner tube, quickly changed it and sent our customer on his way.
Itzel Lokeni
Services Business Supervisor
Grafenwoehr Exchange
Grafenwoehr Exchange’s Services Business Supervisor Itzel Lokeni is constantly looking for more ways to help make the Exchange a valued component of the U,S. Army Garrison Bavaria footprint. Through her initiative, persistence and steadfast work ethic, the Graf Services team increased their food trucks by three new vendors within the past year. This resulted in an overall monthly increase of $14,300 and an average of 16% earnings in contracted food sales. Itzel focused on the overall business, rather than strictly sales growth. She worked with local units coordinating food trucks to support training exercises and local events, which are key factors at the Grafenwoehr Exchange. She invests energy to pass monthly food inspections, which is paramount to the mission readiness and quality control. Thank you, Itzel!
Elena Terranova
Cashier
Vicenza Main Store
Elena is the Central Checkout cashier and our store champion. She participated in training with the U.S. Army Garrison Italy Army Community Service Army Emergency Relief team, which included discussions on how to further promote the partnership with Army Emergency Relief and the Exchange. Now Elena makes sure our customers know about all the great benefits of the Army Emergency Relief and the Air Force Assistance Fund donation programs. During FY22, she was our top performer for the program with more than 374 donations, totaling $904. Elena was the cashier with the most donations for all the main stores in Europe! She was presented an award by the local Army Emergency Relief leadership and received a personal note of thanks from Raymond V. Mason, Lieutenant General (Retired), Director of Army Emergency Relief, to recognize her commitment and success in promoting the Army Emergency Relief program in Vicenza.
