The Home Depot has arrived at ShopMyExchange.com and at PXs and BXs in CONUS; Oahu, Hawaii; and Puerto Rico, giving Exchange shoppers a trusted and familiar name for purchasing and delivery of major appliances.

Orders will be fulfilled via drop-ship through the Home Depot, which eliminates the need for the Exchange to invest in physical inventory, reducing the cost of warehousing, storing and shipping.

Drop-ship is a priority for the organization, and the Home Depot collaboration is part of a larger strategic effort to bring more drop-ship partners on board. In 2022, drop-ship accounted for $180 million in online sales, representing 42% of the Exchange’s e-commerce business.

“Drop-ship provides the most cost-effective means for direct to shopper delivery,” said Dan Koglin, vice president of hardlines. “By filling orders via drop-ship, there is reduced upfront inventory investments and we can offer a wider selection of products without incurring storage costs. The Home Depot already has the efficiencies, relationships, supply chain and economies of scale in place. Working with them allows the Exchange to pass on more earnings to our military communities.”

The collaboration with the home improvement retailer gives military shoppers the opportunity to shop The Home Depot’s branded online page at ShopMyExchange.com or at their local Exchange, where they can browse The Home Depot’s major appliances and place an online order for delivery.

Major appliance showrooms—with The Home Depot fixtures, signing and branding—are launching at five PXs and BXs this spring: Fort Moore, Fort Cavazos, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Fort Sill and Dyess AFB. The concept shops will ultimately roll out to more than 60 CONUS Exchange stores.

Major appliances available for purchase include washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, over-the-counter/built-in microwaves, ranges, cooktops, ovens and hoods. Orders will be fulfilled by The Home Depot, which will handle customer service for all deliveries and installations.

“The partnership will improve customer satisfaction and continue to make the Exchange a destination for quality name-brand products with big tax savings,” Koglin said. “Additionally, The Home Depot showrooms will mimic The Home Depot experience, bringing excitement and new marketing elements to our stores, as well as increased foot traffic.”
