The Camp Ripley Express has revamped its dining experience with Hunt Brothers Pizza and Taco John’s to accommodate the growing population of Soldiers and Reservists on-post for drill and training.

Hunt Brothers Pizza became the store’s first quick-serve restaurant in June. Hundreds of service members visited on grand-opening day.

“The reception of Hunt Brothers Pizza has been fantastic,” Exchange General Manager Doug Everett said. “We had more than $2,000 in pizza sales on the first day and sold roughly 380 pizzas in the first two days.”

A service member stops by the new Hunt Brothers Pizza on opening day for lunch. The restaurant, which opened in June, is the Camp Ripley Express’ first quick-service program.

The Express team also welcomed Taco John’s on July 17. The Mexican restaurant offers tacos, burritos, churros, potato olés and more. More than 300 customers were served on opening day.

“The quick-serve restaurants are the most convenient options for service members and our new additions help improve their quality-of-life,” Everett said.

More than 6,000 Reservists and Soldiers will train or complete drill weekends at Camp Ripley in the coming months. The Express is expanding operating hours to better serve them.
