J’s BBQ Joint, which previously operated a food truck at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, now has its first permanent home at the JBER Hospital after a grand opening ceremony on Nov. 29.

J’s BBQ Joint is owned by retired Lt. Col. Anthony Sean Jordan, who served in the U.S. Army for 32 years.

Cutting the ribbon on the restaurant were Exchange General Manager Keola Chan, Services Operations Assistant Emily Borchert, Services Business Manager Dahlia Haliburton, 673rd Medical Group Deputy Commander Col. Dragos Stefan-Dogar, retired Lt. Col. Jordan, Nutritional Medicine Flight Commander Maj. Lindsey T. Colgan and University of Alaska Anchorage Vice Chancellor Deanne Woodard.

Free samples, Exchange gift cards and drawings for free meals were provided to attendees.

“The Exchange is deeply honored to have a permanent storefront for Lt. Col. Jordan,” Chan said. “Since being a vendor partner with us, he has helped increase food truck sales by 26% and averaged $65,000 in monthly sales. He is a favorite in the JBER community, and we are excited to see what the future holds in his new location.”
