Updated Express Brings More Convenience to Camp Butler Community
Camp Butler Exchange in Okinawa cut the ribbon on its upgraded Express in December, introducing customers to additions and changes that will make life more convenient for the Marine Corps community.
The upgraded store includes Hunt Brothers Pizza, two additional self-checkout registers and an updated layout, giving the Express a brand-new look.
“Butler Express is a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, one-stop shop for our Marines and the military community,” Butler Express Manager Toru Kyan said. “Anyone with base access, including visitors, can purchase food at our store.”
Lt. Col. Spencer A. Szewczyk, Headquarters & Support Battalion and Marine Corps Installation Pacific-Marine Corps Base Butler Executive Officer, and Senior Enlisted Advisor Sgt. Maj. Timothy Anderson joined Pacific Region Commander Air Force Col. Jason L. Beck, Okinawa General Manager David Swenson and Kyan at the ribbon-cutting.
“I would like to thank the Exchange for everything they do to support our Marines,” Szewczyk said. “Camp Butler Express 2.0 is another prime example.”
The updated store gives shoppers an expanded Snack Avenue section that includes boiled peanuts, ready-to-eat soups and better-for-you snack options. The store also added the only carbonated frozen drink machine on the island.
In addition, Butler Express has increased its sport nutrition section, giving Marines supplements to keep them fit and resilient to maintain their active lifestyle.
“The upgrades to Butler Express are fantastic,” Beck said. “And the addition of Hunt Brothers Pizza will give our Marines a delicious meal no matter what time it is.”
