OPERATION: Call Out—Europe/SWA Region
The hard work and dedication to our service members provided by Francesco Zordan, Naresh Sethi and Courtney Cornell are outstanding. Their efforts to continuously find new ways to provide that extra customer care are appreciated, and we are proud to have them on the Europe team!
Francesco Zordan
Storekeeper
Vicenza Main Store
Francesco is continually looking for ways to improve our operations and enhance the work area. He created seating for our break area. After collaboration with the Softlines team to establish the height and size they needed, he crafted an ergonomic hanger storage container using excess planters and the wood boards that came in with the containers—things that would have otherwise become trash. In addition to these projects, Francesco takes care of most of the maintenance and repairs himself. He has been instrumental in ensuring that all our recyclable materials are returned to the distribution center. Thank you, Francesco—due to your commitment to our associates and facility, we have had a reduction of over 33% in maintenance and repair costs.
Naresh Sethi
Inventory Control Associate
Al Asad PX – Kandahar
Naresh started with the Exchange 11 years ago as a cashier in Afghanistan, moving up to various roles and earning a promotion to inventory control associate at the Al Asad Main PX. His role involves crucial responsibilities such as correcting inventory errors, implementing plan-o-grams, executing price changes, and ensuring seamless merchandise stocking. Naresh is committed to our operational efficiency and extends support to various departments from the cash cage to central checkout, and even willingly adjusts his work schedule around our container receiving during peak delivery periods. Naresh’s extensive experience, positive demeanor and can-do attitude make him a crucial asset to the success of the Al Asad team.
Courtney Cornell
Store Manager
Prince Sultan Air Base
Prince Sultan Air Base is a challenging and remote environment. During her time as store manager, Courtney worked tirelessly to overcome many challenges and ensure that the military community was well-served by the Exchange. She worked to develop her team, attended council and community meetings to have a better understanding of the community’s needs, and interacted extensively with local command to ensure smooth operations. Courtney assisted Services for four months to get a new coffee shop installed. She worked through many setbacks, got the correct people involved to complete tasks and got the shop running. Courtney has moved to the Operations Tiger Team; to guarantee a seamless transition for the entire Prince Sultan community, she is working with the new store manager. Thank you, Courtney, for your contributions and positive impact!
