Regional and Directorate Leaders Discussing Successes, Goals at HQ During SVP/VP Strategy Week
Leaders from all five Exchange regions are in Dallas this week for SVP/VP Strategy Week, a series of presentations in which directorate leaders will recap their achievements from 2023 and discuss their plans for 2024.
Exchange Director/CEO Tom Shull and Chief Operating Officer Jason Rosenberg are also meeting with Region leadership throughout the week.
“Our region teams are at the tip of the spear with respect to delivering the hard-earned Exchange benefit to the heroes we are honored to serve,” said Shull. “This time together will pay big dividends in aligning our collective efforts as we aggressively move out to accomplish our 2024 strategic objectives.”
Most Exchange directorates will have a briefing during the week. Topics include 2024 strategies for food and services; MILITARY STAR expansion; best practices for working in partnership with military installations; and much more.
“The successes of 2023 are attributable to all regions’ work to optimize efficiencies and the collaboration with HQ,” said Rosenberg. “This week we will discuss initiatives to build on those successes, continue growth and further improve the shopping experience for the best customers in the world.”
Rosenberg cited the continued success of initiatives such as self-checkout, which has improved convenience by increasing the number of registers available to customers. Initiatives for FY24 include further leveraging of technology, increased expansion of quick serve restaurants in Expresses, continued expansion of unmanned retail markets and optimizing the Exchange’s restaurant portfolio with strong brands such as Panera, Panda Express and Qdoba and the introduction of Robert Irvine’s Fresh Kitchen, the first of its kind and an Exchange-exclusive brand.
Directorate briefings will continue through Thursday afternoon, which will feature a ceremony for North Central Region Vice President Tony Ventura, who is retiring Feb. 1 after 35 years with the Exchange.
